The letter, shown at the bottom of this page, was received by the TW board prior to the closed board meeting held on Mondays before the Thursday members meeting. It was read in full by Bill Bower. He stated that he is not taking any position on the matter one way or the other.
I was not allowed to comment at this meeting. It was obvious to me that this letter was designed to be heavily biased against purchasing the property.
All of the information the letter contained is government oversight offices and issues that would not affect undeveloped greenspace land. The last item involving the FLAG property Market Value is based on incorrect understanding of the data source. The county appraiser does not issue any property market values.
The closing statement at the bottom of the letter speaks for itself. The writer is just trying to scare off any TW residents from voting YES. The authors motives are unknown.
This letter began to show up at various locations around TW during the weeks just prior to the vote. Several stacks were left in the mail room. Since this was seen as against the rules and they were unsigned, these were removed. When they kept appearing, they were removed again. It was also reported that several were left at the doors of TW residents. No one has admitted to doing this.
